Hm, two great photos. There are two leading lines into this picture, the path and the river, and somehow they don't come together. I think this scenery offers opportunity for two portrait orientation photos: The river (with more contrast when metered for the light in the valley) and the path. I really like the light in the left half! Dramatic clouds, and just the kind of barren, desolate loneliness I like in a landscape.
